Recipe: Easy Crock Pot Roast

This is so simple it’s almost not worth posting. Except for the taste. That makes it worth it! The meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender and the house smells great all day long.

Easy Crock Pot Roast

1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 chuck roast (2-4 pounds)

Place roast in crock pot. Combine creamy soup and soup mix, and pour over roast. Cook on low 8 hours.

  • We don’t like cream of mushroom soup so I substitute cream of onion for any recipe calling for it. Even better!
  • I never even picked up the lid of the crock pot for the entire eight hours! Wicked simple!
  • A printer-friendly version of this recipe can be found here.

This reminds me of one my husband’s grandma would make… looks so yummy!

Eight hours? Unreal…I don’t have the willpower to walk past a crock pot and not poke around. Things tend to gradually get spicier around our place…

  3. Sadly it’s not really “taste-able” for the first four or five hours. By then you’d probably have five-alarm pot roast going without even realizing!
