Big day today! Egg number 5 + the first day of incubation. The female spent most of the morning in the nest box and we won’t force her to leave just because of our curiosity. So it was nearly 1:30 p.m. before we were able to sneak a look. We didn’t expect a fifth egg. We were really only checking to make sure everything looked safe and sound. But voila! There it was!
We haven’t seen many house sparrows today, which is always nice. It’s very balmy and windy, in fact you can see our gal’s feathers whipping in the wind while she was out looking for lunch this afternoon.
The male has been very attentive, as expected during incubation, checking in on his woman often and bringing her the occasional bug. That’s love! 🙂
We’ll be back tomorrow!
