When we left the house just before 8:00 this morning, we hadn’t yet seen either bluebird. When we returned at 10:30, we spotted the male (we think) on our neighbor’s gutter, but didn’t see either bird visit the house today. We do think they were here, though, because the nest itself looks a bit “thicker” even though it’s difficult to tell from today’s picture.
A male sparrow sat in a tree near the nest box for a few minutes today, but didn’t approach the box.
I’d be concerned with the lack of activity if it weren’t for the low temperatures. Though 60s were forecast for today, it barely made it into the 50s here, with less sun than predicted. Tomorrow and Monday are expected to bring a return to the 70s, and hopefully also a bluebird return!
